Mail Order Monster

This story starts with the main character Sam Pepper, who is in grade school and is also dealing with the loss of her good friend due to a car accident a while ago. Pepper is good with technology and making electronics. She has issues dealing with her non-biological mom along with her father. One day, she comes across a strange ad in the newspaper that might gain her a new friend…
Mom (The mail robot) acts as her friend there to protect her against enemies, as MOM believed that her non-biological Mom was her enemy; the plot was confusing as the robot prototype just randomly comes into the movie and plays the role of a protagonist against the bullies and helps her through life. One night she went out with the robot to see what was going on off the shore as her friend came along the next morning looking for Sam. As the robot was trying to attack, Pepper and her mom were in a frenzy with the cops. As the robot was attacking them. Sam knew there was a way to get rid of the robot, as Sam’s friend found a way to exterminate the robot thanks to Pepper’s knowledge of robotics. Toward the end, you would think that it would’ve been smart not to keep the robot, as it just went haywire… The plot didn’t make that much sense as the story progressed. As soon as pepper think MOM is done, it might be starting back up again.
The movie could have done better with certain elements, especially with the robot; it’s weird how a kid’s movie has a horror aesthetic to it; a lot of the plot was leaving cliffhangers left and left me hanging through a lot of the interesting parts of the story. Would have been great if there was a further emphasis on the story about the robot.
